Glendoe Estate on the shore of Loch Ness is home to two of our cottages, Kilcuimen and Lower Glendoe Cottage. Both enjoy some of the best views of the loch and are walking distance from Fort Augustus
Welcome to Kilchuimen, a newly-built, luxury four-bedroomed house overlooking the southern end of Loch Ness.
Completed in September 2019 the property, which sleeps up to eight people, has been created with you in mind and is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, borrowing colours and textures from the Scottish Highlands which surrounds the house and grounds.
Just a short walk from the bustling and historic village of Fort Augustus, Kilchuimen is a picture-perfect substantial country cottage, ideally located to take advantage of the glorious Scottish landscape and the many activities nearby.
Kilchuimen is situated on Glendoe Estate, a traditional working Scottish estate which has been in the Vernon family for over 50 years.
A warm Highland welcome awaits you on the banks of Loch Ness.
Kilchuimen has four double bedrooms, two located on the ground floor and two on the first floor.
Bedroom 1
Set on the first floor, this spacious bedroom has wonderful views looking along the loch and also over the garden. Featuring a beautiful king-sized bed, two large built-in wardrobes and a chest of drawers, this well-appointed room has ample storage space. There is also an en–suite shower room with WC and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2
Also on the first floor, this lovely room again boasts panoramic views up Loch Ness and Kilchuimen’s garden. A king-sized bed, two large built-in wardrobes and a chest of drawers provide a lovely, comfortable space for you and your clothes!
Bedroom 3
Situated on the ground floor, this is a large bedroom with views along Loch Ness and features a zip ‘n’ link king-sized bed which can also be separated into twin beds. A built-in wardrobe, bedside tables and chest of drawers allows plenty of storage space.
Bedroom 4
Also on the ground floor, this spacious room enjoys views onto the garden and also features a zip ‘n’ link king-sized bed (can also be separate twin beds), bedside tables and lamps and a chest of drawers.
The extensive open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area has been thoughtfully designed with a keen attention to detail. This light and spacious area is perfect for relaxing and socialising with friends and family while enjoying the spectacular views and perhaps a bit of Nessie spotting?
The modern kitchen is well-equipped with an electric cooker, induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and kettle.
The homely sitting area has plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs with a large Smart TV and cosy double-sided wood burner – perfect for warming you toes after a day’s exploring.
The dining area has a large table and chairs and ample tableware to easily seat eight. In the summer months, the French doors can be opened to enjoy a bit of al fresco living and to drink in the wonderful views.
On the first floor there is an additional sitting area with comfortable sofas and chairs. The sliding doors lead out onto a stunning glass-surrounded balcony – perfect for capturing the vista looking up the famous Loch Ness.
To the front and side of the property there is a fully-enclosed garden with plenty of seating on the patio area which takes advantage of the morning/evening sun and is ideal for barbeques of which there is a charcoal one available. There is a large grassed area and generous off-road parking for up to four cars.
